What to Expect When You Send Your First Case to R&L
Starting a new lab relationship can feel like a leap of faith. You're trusting someone new with cases that matter to your patients — and to your schedule. At R&L Dental Laboratory, we think the best way to earn that trust is to be completely transparent about how we work.
Here's exactly what happens from the moment a case lands with us.
Step 1: We Receive Your Case and Confirm Receipt
Whether we pick up from your practice directly or you ship the case to our Stockton office, every incoming case is logged the day it arrives. If anything is missing from the prescription or the impression isn't workable, we reach out right away — not after we've wasted time on a fabrication that won't serve your patient.
We respond to messages and emails within 1 to 2 business days, and for anything time-sensitive we encourage a direct call to the lab at (209) 474-2977.
Step 2: Fabrication
Your case goes to the bench. R&L specializes in removable prosthetics: full dentures, partial dentures, Valplast flexible appliances, repairs, and relines. Every piece is handcrafted with attention to fit, aesthetics, and durability — because we know that a poorly fitting appliance doesn't just come back to us, it comes back to you in the form of an unhappy patient.
We'll confirm your expected turnaround when we receive the case. For repairs and relines, same-day service is available.
Step 3: Quality Check and Delivery
Before anything ships or gets picked up, it goes through our quality review. We're a local lab, and that proximity matters: for practices in Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, and the surrounding area, local delivery means faster turnaround and one less thing your team has to coordinate.
If you're outside our primary service area, we want to hear from you too. Reach out and we'll work out the best arrangement for your practice.
What Makes This Partnership Work
The practices we work with best are the ones who treat us like a real part of their clinical team — not just a box to ship things to. That means clear prescriptions, honest timelines, and open communication when something doesn't look right. We bring the same transparency to our side.
If you're evaluating labs or thinking about making a change, we'd rather you start with good information than a pleasant surprise. The work either holds up or it doesn't, and we're confident in ours.
